Add-on dynamic micro-multileaf collimator (DMLC)

The Apex DMLC brings additional versatility to treatments on an Elekta linear accelerator. As an add-on multileaf collimator with the smallest leaf width across the largest field size, Apex facilitates practice expansion into stereotactic treatments while enabling a range of additional clinical applications.

The innovative leaf design of Apex delivers excellent physics characteristics. With the dual focused leaves following the divergence of the beam, a low uniform penumbra is created. This is supported by low transmission through the leaves to ensure low integral dose and reduced dose to organs-at-risk.

The quick attach and release mechanism with seamless automated leaf and gantry calibration offers minimal disruption to the daily workflow, while maintaining a high level of positional accuracy.
