ProKnow is proud to support the annual meeting of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) by hosting our first ever Veterinary Treatment Plan Study. The technology used for this study will be our ProKnow Systems plan study program.

Quick Facts

PatientThe patient is a 12-year-old neutered male Golden Retriever cross with a diagnosis of a heart base tumor.
Prescription30 Gy in 3 fractions (10 Gy/fraction).
Plan QualityPlan quality calculations will be based on 27 scored target and OAR metrics, plus two non-scored plan metrics (beams and MUs).

Plan Study Leaders

The study is designed and led by a team from the University of Saskatchewan, led by Dr. Monique Mayer, DVM, MS, DACVR (RO).

Who Can Participate?

Any and all veterinary clinicians who treat with radiation therapy are encouraged to participate.

In addition, radiation therapy experts who treat only humans are also invited to submit plans! After all, photons are photons and living souls are living souls, so please participate. We have a lot to learn from each other.

Go to https://proknowsystems.com to create your free account if you have not done so already.

  1. Log in.
  2. Proceed to the Plan Studies main menu.
  3. In the Organization pulldown menu, select Univ. Saskatchewan Veterinary Medicine.
  4. Click the 2023 ACVR: Dog Heart Base Tumor SBRT plan study, then read the Instructions tab to get started!
