Elekta Xoft Axxent Surface Applicator enable targeted delivery of high dose rate, low energy radiation therapy to surface lesions on or in the body. In addition to providing a highly effective, non-surgical treatment option for NMSC, Elekta Xoft Surface Applicator are also suitable for intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) applications.
The miniaturized Elekta Xoft X-ray Source travels along the applicator channel to the cone, which is placed on the target lesion. The proprietary flattening filter at the cone apex ensures an even dose distribution across the surface of the lesion. The Surface Applicator cones are available in a range of diameters–from 10 mm to 50 mm–providing flexibility to treat lesions of different sizes.
