ELEKTA ESTABLISH NEW SUBSIDIARY IN AUSTRALIA
Elekta, a world-leading supplier of advanced and innovative radiation oncology and neurosurgery solutions, today on Thursday, June 24, 2004 started up operations of its new subsidiary organization in Australia, Elekta Pty. Ltd.
"As a result of our long-term commitment to the whole Asia-Pacific region, Elekta has seized the opportunity to fully realize our potential in the growing markets for both radiation therapy and neurosurgery systems in Australia and New Zealand. Operating directly in the region will ensure we are best placed to achieve that and to serve the clinical needs of our customers", says Tomas Puusepp, Elekta's Executive Vice President - Sales, Marketing & Service
Elekta has been supplying clinical solutions to Australia for more than 20 years and has a strong customer base in the country with numerous installations in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Townsville. Recently Elekta has won very significant orders in both Sydney and Perth. The establishment of a new subsidiary involves the transfer of staff and contracts, made in cooperation with Elekta's previous distributor.
The new Elekta office will be located in Sydney, New South Wales, with sales and service personnel operating directly from strategic locations around the country.
"We see a growing market in Australia and New Zealand and with a strong new Elekta team we will be well equipped to serve the community's needs for more efficient and less invasive treatment methods by supplying state-of-the-art technology and clinical solutions to both existing and potential customers", says Brendan Vahey, Director of Elekta Pty. Ltd., head of Elekta's operations in Australia.
