ELEKTA APPOINTS NEW HEAD OF NORTH AMERICAN OPERATIONS
Elekta has recruited Anthony G. De Carolis as Regional Vice President North America and President & CEO of Elekta Inc., From May 1, Mr. De Carolis will assume responsibility for all Elekta's operations in North America, heading an organization of over 200 employees and managing all sales in North America, which constitutes over 40 percent of Elekta's total sales. In the American market Elekta's treatment methods with radiosurgery are well established with good penetration of the Leksell Gamma Knife®. In the radiation therapy market Elekta is noting continuous success with increased market shares for several years.

Mr. De Carolis has extensive experience from sales of medical technology capital equipment. With over 20 successful years in senior positions at General Electric Medical Systems, Toshiba America Medical Systems and Fisher Imaging Corporation, Anthony De Carolis will be a strong addition to Elekta's expanding operations in North America.
Tomas Puusepp, Executive Vice President - Sales, Marketing & Service at Elekta, who previously has been the acting head of Elekta's operations in North America, will now be able to fully focus on the Company's global development.
