Political action committee

A leader in the political process
We believe that Elekta should be a leader in the political process, just as it strives to be a leader in global cancer care. Elected officials in Washington, D.C. make public policy decisions every day, many of which have a direct impact on our ability to achieve our goals as a company. Our success, in part, depends on our abilities to support those candidates who understand our industry and who advocate for responsible policy on issues that affect our business.
Elekta employees' voluntary contributions to the Elekta Holdings US, Inc. Political Action Committee (Elekta PAC) help ensure that the voices of the company and our patients are heard. Elekta employees are the primary reason we are a leader in the innovations and clinical solutions for treating cancer and neurological disorders, and working together we can retain premier standing as we continue to grow and evolve. Contributing to Elekta PAC is an effective way for all of us to demonstrate our commitment to success. Elekta PAC has recommended giving levels below.
Elekta PAC giving levels:
- Senatorial Level ($1,000-$2,499 per year): Receive the benefits of the Congressional level, as well as an invitation to an annual PAC Board meeting in D.C.
- Chairman's Level ($2,499-$5,000 per year): Receive the benefits of the Senatorial level, an “Elekta PAC Chairman Level” lapel pin, and participation at political functions, as well as the ability to bring a plus-one to the D.C. PAC Board Meeting, and an invitation to the Chairman's Meeting and Dinner in D.C. (which immediately follows the D.C. PAC Board Meeting)
- Elekta PAC Member ($5-$249 per year): Receive the quarterly Elekta PAC Insider and the Elekta PAC Annual Report, as well as an annual PAC gift

We hope you will consider becoming a member of the Elekta PAC.
Sincerely,
Robert Thomas, Elekta PAC Board Member

Frequently asked questions
What is the Elekta PAC?
The Elekta PAC is a political action committee. It provides an opportunity to unite and to educate our elected representatives about the issues affecting our company. The Elekta PAC also offers eligible employees an opportunity to participate in the democratic process and contribute to the company's political strength in a collective way.
Why are the employees being asked to contribute to the Elekta PAC? Why can't Elekta fund the PAC?
Federal election law prohibits corporations from making political contributions to federal candidates. There are two ways to contribute to federal candidates and committees – through individual contributions and through contributions from a PAC.* All contributions are voluntary, and employees may choose not to participate in the Elekta PAC without fear of reprisal.
Who is eligible to join the PAC?
This enrollment card is intended only for Elekta's restricted class, which includes the executive and administrative personnel, shareholders, and families of both. If you are not a member of the restricted class and you inadvertently are solicited or make a contribution, your contribution will be returned promptly. In accordance with Federal Election Commission guidelines, an individual who meets the following requirements may contribute to the Elekta PAC: A US Citizen or green card holder with permanent resident status who is an Elekta employee paid on a salary basis with managerial, professional, sales, or supervisory responsibilities. Individuals cannot exceed $5,000 per year, or $208.33 per pay period, in PAC contributions based on federal contributions limits.
Federal law requires that PACs make “best efforts” to obtain, maintain, and report the name, address, occupation, and employer of each contributor who gives more than $200 in an election cycle.
I understand the purpose of the Elekta PAC is to provide monetary contributions and other support to candidates for federal, state, and local offices. I also understand that my support of the Elekta PAC is completely voluntary and I may choose not to contribute without reprisal. I understand that payroll deductions will be made in accordance with the company's payroll system and will continue until I notify the PAC Treasurer in writing that the authorization is revoke. Finally, I understand that Elekta PAC contributions are for political purposes and therefore are not tax deductible. I further certify that I am either a United States citizen or a foreign national lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as defined by Section 101(a)(20) of the Immigration and Naturalization Act (U.S.C.
