General Guidelines

Thank you in advance for giving Elekta the opportunity to support your organization’s charitable, educational or conference activity.  Please review the following Guidelines before completing and submitting your on-line request for support.

General Guidelines

  • All requests must be submitted directly by the organization requesting support using the Online Application. Elekta employees may not submit requests on an organization’s behalf.
  • All fields in the Online Application form must be completed and all required supporting documentation must be submitted in order for Elekta to process a request. Failure to provide all required information will result in delay and possibly rejection of your request.
  • All information provided in connection with a request must be true and accurate.
  • When completing your request, please keep the following in mind:
    • Elekta corporate giving decisions are not influenced in any way by an organization’s past, present or future use, purchase or recommendation of Elekta products
    • Elekta corporate giving guidelines do not permit donations that will be used to fund (in whole or in part) expenditures related to the delivery of medical care to patients, including administrative, operational and capital costs
    • Your request may need to be publicly reported by Elekta pursuant to the laws of your country.

Specific Guidelines

Charitable Donations

Elekta’s Corporate Giving program provides charitable donations to support initiatives conducted for purely charitable purposes within the fields of cancer and neuroscience.  We prioritize programs that provide support to patients in their fight against cancer and brain disorders, with particular emphasis on disadvantaged and underserved patient populations.

Educational Grants

Elekta’s Corporate Giving program provides educational grants to organizations having a genuine educational function that support bona fide educational and awareness scholarships and programs carried out for the purpose of advancing medical education and clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge in the oncology and neuroscience fields.

To be eligible for an educational grant, the exclusive purpose of the scholarship, program or conference must be to promote objective scientific and educational activities and discourse. Additionally, in the case of educational grants for conferences, the following criteria must be met:

  • The conference host must independently select program content, faculty, audience/invitees, and educational methods and materials.
  • Elekta’s educational grant will be used by the conference host for one or more of the following: to offset educational program costs for all attendees; to pay for meals and refreshments for all attendees that are modest in value and subordinate in time and focus to the conference; to provide reasonable honoraria, travel, lodging, and modest meals for faculty members; and/or to allow meeting attendance by medical students, residents, fellows, or other health care professionals in training.
  • Elekta’s educational grant will not be used to defray any conference related costs for an individual attendee who is not a faculty member or health care professional in training.

For educational grant requests related to conferences, please make sure to fully document the educational purpose of your program in the “Comments” field in the Online Application form and include the following details:

  • Intended audience (size and make-up) of the educational and awareness program
  • Location (name of venue, street address, city, state, country)
  • Specific topics covered in the program

Conference Support

In addition to educational grants, Elekta supports educational, scientific, and policymaking conferences in the oncology and neuroscience fields through its purchase of advertisements and exhibit space for company displays.

Support received from Elekta in the form of advertisement or exhibit fees must be used in the same manner as outlined above for Educational Grants.

For conference support requests, please make sure you fully describe the promotional or display opportunities available to manufacturers.

Supporting Documentation

All of the following documents must be included in your Online Application:

  • Event documentation (e.g., agenda, brochure, web address, invitation letter, etc.)
  • Official documentation establishing the tax-exempt/charitable status of your organization (if applicable)
