VMAT and IGRT Practical Implementation into the Clinic

Description:

This is a one and a half day Course for Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, 

Dosimetrists, and Nurses interested in Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT). 
The program will include such topics as defining the target volumes; clinical      
implementation; billing issues; quality assurance; various tumor applications: 
thoracic, head and neck, breast, prostate, and abdominal; hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy protocols; and patient education.  In addition to the didactic  
sessions, the course will include an onsite demonstration in real time of the CBCT 
technology.  Each participant will receive a detailed manual which will provide    
additional information for each member of your team and a CD of the PowerPoint 
slide presentations.
 
Upon completion of this training Course participants will be able to address target 
volumes for IGRT; billing, coding and reimbursement issues; practical aspects of 
setting up an image-guided radiotherapy program; the role of IGRT in the treatment of various tumor types; and research results.

•  IGRT in Thoracic Malignancies 
•  IGRT in Prostate Cancer 
•  IGRT in Head and Neck Cancer 
•  Body Stereotactic Radiosurgery 
•  Introduction to VMAT:  Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy 
•  Treatment Planning and Delivery of VMAT 
•  VMAT Clinical Utility 
 
Day Two     7:30 am – 12:00 noon 
•  Live CBCT Patient Demonstration 
•  IGRT for Different Sites: Rationale and Experi
•  Adaptive Radiotherapy 
•  Coding/Billing Reimbursement for IGRT 
•  Patient Education Materials 
•  Future of Radiotherapy (IMRT, IGRT, IMAT) 
  
Accreditation:  This CME activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential  Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of The Institute for Medical Studies 
(IMS) and Seattle Prostate Institute.  IMS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
