Description:

This is a two and a half day Course for Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists. The program offers the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and strategies that will help you successfully apply and implement the principles of image guidance into your own radiotherapy practice.
 
Upon completion of this training Course participants will be able to, participants will be able to adopt innovative IGRT approaches in clinical practice, expand opportunities for image guided radiotherapy practice and make informed decisions in the context of IGRT.
  
Day One        1:30 pm -  8:00 pm
• An overview of the rationale and tools of Image Guidance
• Individual presentations on concepts that underpin image guidance
• Live demonstrations and practical exercises

Day Two        9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Illustrations of how to translate techniques and questions into the clinical environment
• Opportunities and challenges associated with image guidance will be highlighted

Day Three      9:00 am – 5:00pm
• Explore possibilities and challenges for applying concepts in clinical practice
• Future directions of image guidance technologies
• Hands on experience in application and decision making
 
 

Credits: Medical Dosimetrists Certification Board, 15 credits; Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs Inc., 19.13 credits
