ELEKTA AND IMPAC MEDICALSYSTEMS AGREE TO JOINTLY DEVELOP DICOM-RT LINEAR ACCELERATORINTERFACE

Interface will be the firstcomplete linear accelerator DICOM-RT interface and willfacilitate connectivity between Elekta’s digital linearaccelerators and IMPAC’s Oncology Management System

Elekta, a world-leading supplierof advanced and innovative radiation oncology solutions andservices, and IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:IMPC), aleading provider of information management solutions for cancercare, announce today their agreement to use a full DICOM-RTcompliant specification for the development of an interface toconnect the Elekta product lines of digital linear accelerators (ElektaSynergy™ and Precise Treatment System™) with IMPAC’soncology information management products.

This interface will provide avendor-independent means of facilitating universal connectivityof next-generation radiation treatment devices, such as linearaccelerators and proton therapy delivery systems as well astreatment simulation devices to information management systems.IMPAC and Elekta are the first to formally adopt the standard.Both companies have been working together towards this goal overthe past months.
