
ELEKTA INITIATES REPURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Stockholm, June 21, 2006
Elekta has on June 21, 2006, repurchased 54.500 B shares at an average price of SEK 125.86. Elekta’s current holding of own shares (treasury stock) amounts to 54.500 B shares. The total number of shares in Elekta as of June 20 is 94,345,904.
The repurchases currently being carried out are in line with the Board’s decision on June 14, 2006, to mandate executive management to initiate on appropriate occasions the repurchase of shares amounting up to SEK 100 M.
For information regarding implementation of additional purchases within this mandate, Elekta offers reference continually to www.elekta.com – Investor Center or to www.stockholmsborsen.se.
Purchases will be made on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and at a price within the registered price interval at the time of each purchase. Purchases may be made during the period until the next Annual General Meeting. Elekta intends to suggest to the AGM that repurchased shares are cancelled.
