RADIATION THERAPY - TECHNICAL TRAINING

The Technical Training Department aims to provide high quality technical training on the current product range.

Our focus is to provide information and training that supports and facilitates the acquisition of underpinning knowledge and practical experience so that engineers and scientists are competent and confident to manage the whole life cycle of the Elekta equipment in their care.

Technical Training is organised from the Elekta Ltd office in Crawley, UK.

At the Crawley site there are a number of classrooms and equipment installations, which includes a radiating Precise Linear Accelerator, Precise Table, Linac Control Console and iView GT™.

At the Linkoping, Sweden site there is a dedicated Leksell Gamma Knife® installation, which is used during the training course.

First line training courses are usually run on customer sites around the world. These courses present a low risk to the customer’s machine.

The training department team comprises 9 training instructors, Godfrey Mott, Keith Richardson, Lorraine Dorey, Tim Smith, Mark Hammond, Dave Kennard, Kevin Bussley, John Joyce and Richard Oddsson. Our Training Coordinator is Caroline Giles.

Historic courses on some older equipment can be provided on request.

The number and type of courses scheduled is decided by demand.  All training requests must be submitted in the first instance to your local Elekta Business Unit. They will then complete a training booking form and forward this to the Technical Training Department.

Each Customer or Business Unit is contacted with the scheduled dates for the required courses. Confirmation of attendance must be received before courses are allowed to run.

Our Technical Training Overview will help you determine which training course will meet your need, whether you are an Elekta Engineer, Customer Engineer, Customer Physicist or Elekta Distributor.
