Stereotactic Body Frame® Course

Goal

Stereotactic Body Frame® Course provides training for Radiotherapy Operators in the clinical use of the Stereotactic Body Frame® system. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to operate the complete system effectively. The course does not involve the actual planning and treatment of patients using the Stereotactic Body Frame®.

Objectives

• Provide an understanding of Stereotactic Body Frame® hardware, co-ordinate system and the principles behind its use.
• Enable accurate preparation of patient and treatment area details for clinical treatment
• Facilitate competent use of Stereotactic Body Frame® for clinical purposes
• Understand the relevant safety issues and care and maintenance of the system with regard to the routine use of the equipment

Requirements

• A maximum of 6 participants must attend the for the full duration of the 1 day course
• Course participants must understand the principles of, and be familiar with the administation and delivery of radiation treatment
• Course participants should be those who will be responsible for and who will be using the Stereotactic Body Frame® clinically

Training Documentation

Each participant will receive a Stereotactic Body Frame® training guide, that incorporates step by step tutorials. Certificates will be issued to candidates on successful completion of the course.

Course Introduction Hardware: main components co-ordinate system Patient preparation: vacuum pillow chest leg markers diaphragm control recording patient position Overview: CT/MR scan planning Course review, discussion, evaluation forms
