Leksell SurgiPlan® is an advanced image-based neurosurgical planning software, specifically designed for Leksell Stereotactic System®.

Enhanced Target Definition

ImageMerge™ can import CT, MR and angiographic images in addition to PET images by use of image merge. The graphical user interface is designed for optimal use of the screen for image display and treatment planning.

All open images and 3-D views are correlated and updated in real time. Targets can be outlined semi-automatically, allowing complex non-continuous regions. Not only can targets be projected from CT or MR, but Leksell SurgiPlan® also has the capability to project outlined target information from angiographic images onto CT and MR data sets.

Functional Neurosurgery

Leksell SurgiPlan® offers unique capabilities for functional neurosurgery, facilitating improved clinical outcomes. The AC-PC line can be easily defined whether or not it lies within a single image plane. It is defined in 3-D space, which is necessary for oblique reconstructions and localization of functional targets.

The patient’s images can then be re-aligned to the AC-PC line so that they are truly axial, coronal and sagittal, facilitating referencing to different brain atlases. This unique feature also simplifies frame attachment, since perfect frame alignment with the AC-PC line is no longer necessary. Functional targets can be localized using AC-PC line based formulas, which automatically provides the corresponding stereotactic coordinates.

User-Friendly System

Parameters for planned targets and paths are summarized in a comprehensive treatment protocol together with patient data. Snapshots can be taken directly from the screen and printed for complete documentation.
