Leksell® Neuro Generator is a complete system for stimulation, stereotactic lesioning, pain treatment and bipolar coagulation. Leksell® Neuro Generator combines a radio frequency (RF) energy source with sophisticated, integrated monitoring and control features.

The latest microprocessor technology and state-of-the-art software ensures accurate control and supervision. All operational functions are easily and rapidly accessible from the control panel.

The parameters are continuously monitored, and the temperature bar graph shows both set and current temperature as well as rate-of-change.

Lesioning and impedance measurement can be performed simultaneously. In bipolar coagulation mode the RF output is controlled by a foot switch. Leksell® Neuro Generator can easily be draped, permitting the surgeon to control all parameters during operation under sterile conditions.

The Stimulation Mode can be operated via a handheld remote control, allowing the surgeon to closely observe the patient’s reactions.

Electrodes for a wide range of applications

A wide range of specially designed monopolar and bipolar electrodes are available for different applications. The electrodes have integrated thermocouple controlled sensors, to accurately control temperature. All electrodes are autoclavable.

The Pain Electrodes and disposable cannulas are available in various lengths for different applications in the cervical, lumbar and thoracic region, as well as for thermolesioning of the trigeminal nerve and ganglion.

The Brain Lesion Electrodes are intended to be used with Leksell Stereotactic System® for precise production of the lesion. Impedance monitoring, stimulation and RF-lesioning are performed with the same electrode. The monopolar and bipolar electrodes are available in various diameters. A rotatable guide and stop, for simultaneous use of two monopolar electrodes, are also included.

The Brain Lesion Electrodes

The Bipolar Macroelectrode is designed to be used together with Elekta MicroDrive™ and Leksell Stereotactic System®. It is especially suited for macro-stimulation, adding the increased accuracy of Elekta MicroDrive™ to find the correct target and enabling the use or its unique, specially designed parts for precise lead electrode implantation.

The Bipolar Macroelectrode

The electrode also brings the high accuracy of Elekta MicroDrive™ to find the optimal position when lesioning is the preferred method.
