Modelled on the proven design of Elekta Synergy, Elekta Synergy S is an image-guided robotic linear accelerator that combines high-conformance beam -shaping with our exclusive 4D Adaptive™ image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) technology for advanced stereotactic radiation treatments. It also offers all the advantages of the complete line of Elekta digital linear accelerators, including exceptional positional accuracy, integrated digital controls, open connectivity, quiet operation and a durable, ergonomic design.  Elekta Synergy S provides planar, fluoroscopic quality and 3D X-ray volume imaging (XVI) of the patient in the treatment position. This helps to minimize the risk of set-up error by identifying critical structures during treatment, allowing clinicians to characterize and compensate for motion. With these capabilities, Elekta Synergy S delivers a powerful combination of software-driven, 2D and 3D image-guided accuracy and highly conformal beam-shaping – two critical requirements for maximizing precision and improving patient outcomes with stereotactic treatment. Essentially, Elekta Synergy S enables clinicians to apply SRS and SRT effectively for small-field lesions and other indications with tight tumor margins. At its simplest level, a signature is a person’s name - written in their own handwriting. It therefore combines a unique identity and a unique way of doing things. Multi-modality energy flexibility Elekta Synergy S offers an unprecedented selection of therapeutically effective X-ray beams. With the flexibility to select a range of X-ray beam energies, physicians can optimize the dose distribution by choosing an energy appropriate to the site and depth of the lesion.
High-resolution beam-shapingElekta Synergy S includes an integrated multileaf collimator with a generous 16cm x 21cm fieldsize. The field comprises 80 individually controlled leaves, each with a travel range of more than 21cm. Because opposing 4mm (nominal) leaves can pass each other (interdigitate) clinicians can create a range of finely shaped, high-resolution fields within one field simultaneously. This contributes to patient safety and improved conformal avoidance of critical structures.
Beam angle flexibilityElekta Synergy S features a small diameter 62cm treatment head which in combination with the industry best isocenter clearance, maximizes clearance around the patient and contributes to the wide variety of treatment approaches possible, including non-coplanar treatments. This enables Elekta Synergy S to deliver radiation from angles impossible to replicate with other systems.
Exceptional positional accuracy- iBEAM® evo Couchtop is the next generation couchtop for both imaging and treatment, providing outstanding in situ imaging quality and minimizing artifacts. The iBEAM evo Couchtop unique homogenous carbon fiber sandwich design contains no metal in the treatment area and offers improved radiotranslucency, with a minimized attenuation spread across the range of beam entry angles, providing the perfect solution for IMRT, IMAT and IGRT.
