Desktop Pro – Premium Therapy Course

Goal

Desktop Pro - Premium Therapy Course provides training for Radiotherapy Equipment Operators in the clinical use of Precise Treatment System™. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to operate the complete system effectively. The course does not provide training in the principles or techniques used in Radiotherapy.

Objectives

  • Provide a basic understanding of the hardware and software comprising the Precise Treatment System™
  • Facilitate competent use of Precise Treatment System™ and Premium Therapy software for clinical purposes
  • Enable accurate preparation of patient, treatment and field details for clinical treatment
  • Understand the relevant safety issues and system administrator procedures with regard to the daily use of the system

Requirements

  • A maximum of six course participants, who must attend for the duration of the 4 day course at the customer site
  • Course participants must understand the principles of, and be familiar with, the administration and delivery of radiation treatment
  • Course participants should be those who will be operating the system in clinical use
  • Precise Treatment System™ must be available for training purposes for the course duration

Training Documentation

Each course participant will receive a Desktop Pro - Premium Therapy Course training guide that incorporates step by step tutorials. The operators manual will be referenced during the course. Certificates will be issued to successful participants who complete the course.

DAY 1

  • Course introduction
  • Safety features
  • System, hardware overview
  • Manage Prescription

DAY 2

  • Prescriptions including, MLC shape and dose monitoring points
  • Create a test prescription from a clinical case
  • Power up/down, standby
  • Deliver Premium mode, check films, overrides
  • Practice and Treatment sheet printing

DAY 3

  • DICOM
  • IMRT prescriptions
  • Case 2 - Head and Neck
  • System administration
  • Networking
  • Database back-up options
  • Practice treatment prescription creation and delivery

DAY 4

  • Omniwedge prescription creation and delivery
  • Copy settings
  • Deliver Standard Therapy
  • HDRE, prescription creation and delivery
  • Service

DAY 5

  • Clinical practice
  • Course review, discussion, evaluation forms
