Elekta's dedication to stereotaxy reaches back more than 50 years. Our founder, the late professor Lars Leksell, originated the idea of minimally invasive surgery in the 1930s and introduced the Leksell Stereotactic System®in 1948, followed by Leksell Gamma Knife®in 1968.
