What's Ahead in Radiation Therapy and Safety
In February, the 2011 Future of Radiation Medicine Symposium brought notable experts in the field of radiation medicine to present information on the latest advancements in the treatment of spine, brain, lung, liver, breast and prostate cancers, as well as safety considerations in the clinical setting.
Radiation therapy technology is continually advancing, offering new treatment options and hope to patients with even the most complex tumors. This constant innovation requires ongoing education amongst practitioners to ensure optimal treatment is provided with patient safety in mind.
The one-day symposium was supported by Elekta, to provide the cancer community with relevant, up-to-date information on the current state of radiation therapy and information on the future of the technology.
