Not able to attend ASTRO this year? Below are some quick highlights:
- Elekta welcomed Nucletron to the family. The acquisition agreement between Elekta and brachytherapy world leader, Nucletron, broadens Elekta’s product offering for patients with cervical, prostate, breast and rectal cancers. The resulting combination of products is particularly important as the combination of brachytherapy and external beam radiation therapy treatments continues to emerge as a common therapy for certain diseases.
- For the first year, the Medical Oncology Summit was held in conjunction with the Elekta Oncology User Meeting.
- Following the 20th Annual Elekta Users Meeting, the Third Annual Charity Bash was held, raising USD 53,000 for the Sandy B. Muller Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Elekta presented how innovation and product development as well as increased presence in fast growing emerging markets are the cornerstones in Elekta’s growth strategy at the annual Investors Meeting held during ASTRO. In addition, Elekta also described how its recently acquired brachytherapy solutions will contribute to Elekta’s growth.
